Some interesting views here, and I`m so glad I`m not alone in this one
Jeez, it's only rain. Let's hope we never have to go to war if that's how soft we've become!
Get one of theseAnd the more you drive, the more it increases rainfall at our latitude, and the more it rains. So the more you drive...
And don't use exposure lights if they need repairing because of rain.I had nearly 15 years of daily cycle commuting. At one point I kept a note of rainy days, and it did work out to be 1½ days a month. But clearly some parts of the UK are wetter than others. The solution has to be better waterproofs. And disk brakes. Definitely disk brakes.
Not sure you've been following the news. If folks keep driving the middle ages may be closer than you think. This is the 21st century, not the middle ages. Cars have been invented to make travelling more comfortable, amongst other things.
I went to university in Manchester/Salford in the mid-1980s. It is supposed to be one of the wetter areas of the UK but in 3 years of doing a 1.5 mile walk each way from my flat (twice 4 days a week and once on Wednesdays) I only got soaked a handful of times. Quite surprising really!
Move to the north west. It can drizzle easily for days.I live in the south east and noticed over the past 5 years that rain seems to be more prolonged and heavy atm. Remember the good old english shower? Always either dry or heavy rain now.
