Muvi's are alright. You need to use a silicone sleeve iirc to be waterproof. Battery time is a bit naff, some models have only about 40 minutes, some longer. Seems to vary. Recording in the dark will need a very fast card too. If you want quality and battery time then its an investment.

My ATC 5K with rechargeables has that life and is really robust and waterproof but its quality is average (at best 
) and its really poor in the dark, the mic is pants and its not exactly neat/ light weight, despite these positives Amazon still want £120 for it (£150 till a few weeks ago).
Another one to give a miss is the AT1, iirc its £65 and of similar quality to the ATC a slightly nicer looking unit but the batteries are 10 times worse (45min max) and it has a habit of corrupting files over 35mins (they can be recovered but its a time consuming pain). Its a good concept but that's about it.

£120 for the ATC 5k? what a joke.
The drift X170 is a better camera by miles and only a little bit more.
The best battery life, features and quality are in the more expensive cameras. It is a shame but it's the reason why people choose the Contour's and GoPro's.

)I had a quick squidge at the drift for £129 you are indeed getting a whole lot more (resolution, capacity, higher frame rate, etc) in what looks like more compact unit. I didn't see battery life but that shouldn't be too much of a problem as it takes AAs.

Down the bottom of the Drift page is a video, the Bullet cam page has one too. I don't know how easy it'll be to compare, it two completely different environments.

Instead of the BulletHD I would recommend the Camsports HDS-720p, £200 odd quid though. It will record 120 minutes, internal 4gb memory - not upgradable but ok.
I've been using it for the past 3 days, and its pretty waterproof. I had the mic cover on in really bad weather and it coped rather well.

-good quality in daylight
-some good mounts
-dead simple to use - one button operation
cons
-small flashing red LED when in operation
-night recording a bit grainy
-lens distortion can be a bit odd looking
-price
-it wont date stamp, and cant alter the file date from 2008
-manual is wrong

I saw this the other day. It come with a bracket for handlebar mounting. Looks as though you have to buy the card though, but thats not going to break the bank.

The compact will be a 28mm equivilent, not an actual focal length due to the size of the optics. It harks back to the old 35mm film SLR standards still used by many cameras today (most notably in dSLRs). The average 28mm equivilent lens will be about 70°

I actually think its less than 120, feels more like the 90ish of the HQ2 I also use at times.

I've been using the Muvi for the last 3 weeks and it's good, although if you want it to be waterproof you'll need the sports pack, the silicone cover still lets water in. The battery lasts around two hours. The only thing I've upgraded is the micro SD, I got an 8gb one for a fiver from CX. You can get the whole lot for £90 if you shop around. I'm just editing some footage that I took earlier of a bad road user that I'll be posting on this forum in an hour or two, so you can see how good the picture is.
