I'm seriously skint!
I have some time to invest, perhaps 5 hours per week.
How can I make some decent cash?
One idea I had was getting down to the local £1 shop; eyeing up some potential bargains and listing them on ebay for say £3-£4 a pop (without actually buying them first) as they sell (if they sell) get down the £1 shop and buy the required amount - sound any good?
If I sold 15 items per day that would be about £35 per day profit.
If making money was that easy the World would be doing it.
I'd be careful; it may sound good and indead simple but there will be q's you need to answer first.
Ebay fees?
Paypal fees?
Postage and packaging fees?
Availability of stock at the £ Shop - once you've advertised and sold a specific item, there is no guarante it will still be in stock
There is also the ethical dilema of selling something you do not own
Selling in bulk qtys is one option; but what about stock, even more risky?
Number of "live" auctions needed to generate a daily hit / sale rate of 15 items?
TAX???
Oh; and why would anyone buy an item off you via Ebay for a 200% inflated cost to what they can buy it for on the High Street?
Maybe take your idea and re-mould it slightly.
Think of reasons why people buy things (in bulk or as sets) and maybe try and source component items cheaply via £ Shop or similar and sell them on Ebay as a mad-up set. Multiple items, set, etc = higher price.
Think of ideas like children going back to school; haloween, 5th November, childrens parties etc etc
Or alternativly look at the bulk stock clearence sales on Ebay and consider this route; buy cheaply in bulk, sell individually at a higher unit price - either on Ebay or car boot sales etc
I think you need to be prepared to "invest" a few £ into stock otherwise you are leaving yourself wide open to fail - not that buying stock is a guarante either.
A simpler option may be to look for an evenings bar work at your local
Write a few articles for a local rag or magazine
etc etc
