I slapped the side of a van once when they cut into my cycle lane and nearly wiped me out, let's just say the driver wasn't happy and I was out of there pretty sharpish, luckily my natural route took me into a road he couldn't follow anyway.
I hate it when there's a car turning right as you just know idiots are going to pull into the left without checking 1st,just another of the many hazards we face every day I suppose.

Did same to a WVM years back, he chased me through red lights and the lot, was getting hairy (he was well built and looked like he could lay me out with a single punch, I was a spotty 14 year old) until he chased me the wrong way down a 1 way street and met a copper head on :-)

Coffin dodgers = lethal. I had yet another display very poor judgement and driving ability yesterday evening. This one was in an old red Metro. He had a cap and clipped black moustache, brown M&S coat and matching gloves. He hugged my rear wheel when he could have easily passed but decided to wait until approaching a bend where a tipper truck was emerging rather quickly, narrowly avoiding a head on collision.

Coffin dodgers should all be re-tested every 3 years from age of 65 years, maybe every year if their health is rapidly deteriorating or being under pain of being removed from the roads for good if their GP/DSA feels they are just not capable. Anyone who is 75 years old and still driving needs to be re-tested annually.

There are always the pyschos. But having a camera(s) and a phone helps no end these days, unless you meet some one who is really dense and unhinged.

Fossy, no need to make you aware as you generally are or any suggestion you did what this cyclist did, but there are some nutters out there .............. who will kill.

A CYCLIST was knocked down and killed in a suspected revenge attack after he damaged a motorist's wing mirror, a court has heard.
The car driver, Sean Fitzgerald, aged 35, of Bennetts Road North, Keresley, Coventry, is charged with murder.
He is alleged to have deliberately mounted the pavement and driven at warehouseman Paul Webb on Thursday afternoon.
The 42-year-old victim suffered multiple injuries and died at the scene in Bennetts Road South, Keresley, as he cycled home from work at the Co-op distribution centre at Prologis Park.
Coventry magistrates court was told Fitzgerald reacted after his nearside mirror was knocked off by a cyclist moments earlier, but it is not clear if the victim was the man responsible.
Emma Garnett, prosecuting, said: “He was angry that his wing mirror was knocked off.

“This defendant followed the cyclist for 300 yards from the first point of contact and mounted the kerb while he [Mr Webb] was on the pavement.”
She said the cyclist suffered a fatal combination of broken ribs, a shattered pelvis and internal bleeding in the crash, which left debris scattered up to 15 metres away.
The court heard Fitzgerald handed himself in to police the following day where he was arrested and charged.
Andrew Mithie, defending, said: “This gentleman was driving from Bennetts Road North into the city centre along Bennetts Road South when there was contact by a cyclist with his nearside wing mirror.
“He was upset about the damage and started to remonstrate with the cyclist who made off.
“This gentleman accepts that some distance away there was contact and it seems that it probably was the same individual, but he’s not sure if it was or not.”

Dad of two Fitzgerald was denied bail and was remanded in custody for a hearing at Coventry Crown Court on Monday April 27.
Police are still seeking witnesses to the accident.
Detective Inspector Wendy Bailey from CID at Little Park Street police station said: “The victim was wearing a red jacket and the car he collided with was silver in colour.
"It is believed the car involved was behind a refuse collection lorry.
"We would appeal for anyone who saw the pedal cyclist or the silver car behind the refuse lorry to come forward.”
Anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone with information is urged to call Little Park Street police station on 0845 113 5000

But not charged stupid amounts for being re-assessed. If they are safe but on low income and need the mobility, that becomes a problem

Cranky - you are too sensible....:biggrin:

One does have to be careful on that road.....punching a blacked out Range Rover Sport, Merc or BMW is not advised - the local 'dealers' or 'gang leaders' drive round in them......no self respecting gangsta would drive a perfectly normal Toyota Avensis.... ;)

Anyway, they'd have to catch me first...chase me.. chase me ;)

Nah, a blacked out rear window would partially lower and a volley of machine gun or automatic fire would be let off in your general direction ........ and the car would speed off.

Makes me think of the gentleman on an ordinary in London, spotted by a yacfer. He was nonchalantly placing his foot on black cabs at the lights.
