Jeez, I'm going to start selling lucky heather, you lot are pathetic, puncture fairy my a**e, some drunken idiot smashes a bottle/glass, you cycle over the broken glass and it's the fault of a mythical piece of nonsense brought on by something you said.

Grow a pair!!!

Coming from a man whose puncture avoidance tactic is simply to ride less!

He'll have no choice now, it's not as if he'll ever get a tyre to hold air again after that outburst

no that would be evasion and is illegal, I exercise avoidance via the perfectly legal use of M+ tyres. But rest assured that when they do puncture, as they will, the explanation is exceedingly unlikely to be supernatural.

I thought you had invested in a wacky Nordic ice tyre with 6 inch spikes?

The Puncture fairy's brother is the 'Another one for the road' fairy.

;) I've always said that people who deliberately smash glass are fairies.

Riding down the alley this morning, I thought to myself and I know not why - "going to get a puncture on the way in".

I did. And the tyre went flat and everything. First for a long while.

I've had 4 visits in 3 weeks now and am starting to get paranoid! This in on dry roads too!! All of them have been quite slow too, two of them I've not found anything in the tyre to suggest a culprit either.

Actually make that 5, just been to check the bike and sure enough the rear tyre is flat

Take the whole tyre off, damp rag around the inside in case of debris. Check for holes by holding it up to the sun/sky (whatever you have given the time of year) and check the tyre for holes - if you find a weak spot put a patch on the inside of the tyre and chalk over.

Then line with kevlar strip and new tube and should be better.

Other thing to do is aim a second, more powerful light right down at the deck some 2-3 feet infrton of the bike to pick out glass in the dark.

Perhaps also fill out your fave roads to the relevant councils for a sweeper to pass by, too..? Glass can be like a needle in a haystack.

I'm usually fairly good with punctures and took the tyre off completely last night but couldn't find anything under a bright light that could cause the issues. Will have another look at lunchtime and then I think I'll change the whole tyre when I get home regardless.

My roads are thankfully well lit so I don't tend to do too badly. This week though it's obvious there's a problem or someone at work has taken a dislike to me and started sticking a pin in my tyre
