Actually make that 5, just been to check the bike and sure enough the rear tyre is flat

Puncture please! I'm of the Adam School of Bladder Control.

Don't worry Big M - when I started riding my P-X regularly, I was usuing new, proven tyres (for me) and I couldn't stop getting punctures. Again, I think I can (usually) reasonably identify the cause, but I kept on getting them, culminating in bailing out of a FNR - even though I was so close I could hear the shout of "Bollards!"
Anyway, it was the tiniest, spikiest piece of metal wire - think wire brush - and it was only revealed under the arc lights of some workers doing an all-nighter on Park Lane!

Right today's puncture was in a different place to the last two. Still no sign of anything on the inside of the tyre but did find a couple of flints on the outside. Will see what happens when it's time to go home. Maybe it is just someone at work who hates me

Tried to install some kevlar strip to the tyre today as added protection.. turns out the sticky side doesnt like Gatorskins. Just would not set down.

Took it out after a couple of hours waiting to see if it would bond.

Right, just got a really good deal on a couple of Ultremo Rs from my LBS. They are going on at the weekend and I'll cry if they puncture!!

Are they for your commuter Martin? Heard they are great while they last but they don't last long.

Bugger they are for the commuter (I only have a commuter and an MTB). Guy in the shop said they are good, looking on Wiggle they are over £30 but I didn't pay that for them but I'll see how they go.

I have never had a puncture in Stockwell. (Susie has, mind, in a Top Touring tyre!).

Same with me ... bragging about not having had one for 18 months, how brilliant the Specialized Nimbus armadillo tyres are, then two in the same day on Saturday  one with a nail and the other with a fishing hook.

The PF does exist

Ultremo Rs are the ones that just 'bulge out' all over the place. and have been subject to recall.

Ultremo DD - on the other hand are the ones to get Big M.

You should have fitted, and ultimately forgotten, Marathon+ 700 x 25s. Good winter training tyre which concentrates the blood flow to the arms, ensuring warmth on the coldest of days.

Not putting 25s on my bike until Hell freezes over and when that happens I'll use the MTB.

So Ultremo Rs are no good then?

Seriously, don't know about the tyres but I fitted DDs to the Ti after all that bother with my Pro3s and I seem to recall something - possibly that has been resolved now. iLB had one blow out on him I think - not sure if it was an R...

Nothing soft in riding 'big' (2mm bigger) tyres on a 'racing' bike Big M - shows that you are adaptable and multi-faceted.
