I Tunes Question.

Just downloaded a compilation album and its all over the place.. In the past I have done this..

Kerrang 2... to Ke Kerrange 2 and all the songs have stayed in the one album but I tried this today and it didn't work, so any tips on how to get the album to stay together.
Its no good to me if its all over the place.

Not sure if this should be in another section or not as its not bike related but feel free to move to the right section if you wish.

Sounds like the id tags associated with the individual tracks are not all the same. Edit them all to the same album title and it should sort it. I won't go near iTunes so I can't help on how you fix it within that particular program

I'm pretty sure you don't have to touch ID tags.

Check the preferences menu, there should be a tick box for 'Group Compilations' or something similar.

Delete it and put a record on the turntable.

Delete it and re-rip it. Otherwise select all of the individual tracks, right click one of them and then edit (even if it is just adding a space at the end of the album title) then click OK. This usually gets it back together.

Nope. There's nothing wrong with the files. Thus is the way iTunes deals with compilations.

tis not the way it deals with them on my copy of iTunes. anything that comes as an album stays that way and if it does not, it is made to. I do not tolerate random tracks showing as a new album for each and every track - the way I see it, if it came as an album, compilation or not, it shows as an album. Unless I have completely mis-understood what Boon 51 means as a compilation - I am assuming that the compilation album is a legit compilation and not a home-made one (in which case it will show seperately, but can be made to think it is a single album by the above method).

Your right it is a pukka one as I downloaded it from the I tunes store this morning..

OK.. I did find the tick box for Group Compilations un ticked and ticked it again to make sure it works and it does.. But it still dont work so the tick box is not working even though its ticked?
That might be the problem not sure.

can take a little persaverance... would also try the delete it and start again option, clearing the music files as well.
usually what I start with.

Edit: had not appreciated it was a digital copy. flag it to iTunes as a download problem and get them to sort it for you! easiest, if not the quickest route!

Went to iTunes and finally reached the contact page, filled in all the boxes then went to press the continue button but the continue button wouldn't work. Now I've lost all the filled in boxes as I've not used the page for 10 minutes. Oh joy!
