...And funnily enough I found review after review suggesting the Carrera Subway 2 is a fine bike to get started with. Legendary even.
I even read a review here on this site...

So, I watched a few on ebay and got an idea of the range of prices they were going for and I eventually took the plunge. Got myself a 20" frame (as I'm 6'4"ish) and the seller left the lights and mudguards on it etc. It needed some love and some tender care but for £140ish I couldn't argue.

So, oiled it up, and gave it a run out and it seemed to be ok, besides a small knock in the crank every 3.5 revolutions there's nothing major wrong with it. So on the third of May this year I hop on my bike and ride into town, I needed a hair cut and to pick some things up from a couple of shops, I take my bike to a private car park I know is covered in cctv and lock it up and then head off. I return an hour later and notice the bike has moved (it wasn't in the position I had left it, but it and the lock were still there) someone had taken the quick release front wheel.

I wasn't amused.

I report it to the police instantly (as a pay phone is close by) and they tell me they'll check the cctv as they have access to all the cams in and around town. To no avail, I get an incident number that's no use as I don't have insurance, they aren't interested as it's only a wheel and they don't bother with the cctv.

OK, fair enough, my own fault, I know there are plenty of scumbags around that would stab you as soon as spit on you so I should have had multiple locks to make it a lot more difficult instead of the free lunch (fix!) it was to steal.

So Halfords are very little help, they no longer stock the ddm1 wheels any more so I get myself onto ebay and lo and behold there's one down south (I'm up here in 'that grim North'). Even better its a front wheel with a load of Shimano gubbins on it. Perfect I think, I can whizz the Shimano stuff off it and bosh a circular disc brake rotor onto it and I'll be right as rain.

Ha.

So here is the nucleus of my current predicament. The Carrera Subway 2 bike I have I believe is a stock edition, so all the components on it are as they were the day it was sold brand new. I have front and rear Tektro disc brakes on it. But like the wheel not stocked at Halfords I can't find the appropriate replacement rotor and fittings anywhere - primarily because I don't know what I'm looking for (besides it being Tektro and circular) as the rear rotor has no markings on it to give me a lead.

So, if someone knows or if someone has a similar Subway 2 to check against could that person or persons advise me on what to do next/what pieces to purchase next as I'd like my bike back functioning.

Thanks in advance, and congrats on making it through a somewhat long winded explanation of how and where I find myself regards my bike.
