Watched it last night. Thought your bit nailed how someone can fly off the handle for absolutely no reason.

The chap who got run over was lucky. He could have come off much worse.

Road Rage woman was just mental.

I am among those who find Matthew_T's Youtube footage (almost all I've seen) an egregious exercise in provocative and unhelpful self-appointed-Judge- Dredd behaviour. I may be in the minority on these pages, but I find it so.

I also see a degree of selective myopia and hypocrisy in the corner-cutting he indulged in (and filmed himself doing) on a club run, after having told the C5 bully that he was doing so. There is a strong suggestion too of "I don't know the law so it doesn't count" in his execrable and now removed illegal motorcycling footage. This sits uneasily with the image of a man who carries a copy of the HC to tell others how they have transgressed.

I've only seen the 90 seconds of this show that another member linked in response to one of my posts. It does come across well and Matthew comes across as calm, balanced and positive. The driver of the C5 comes across as the knuckle-dragging moron and bully that he is.

It is a very good thing that a balanced piece about cycling in the UK has been made and that Matthew_T contributed positively to it.

This does not alter my view of his Youtubesilliness, which I am glad to see has petered out on these pages since the motorcycle debacle.

For them to do very little about, by all accounts. The most striking thing to me about all the incidents is how little was done. The guy who physically assaulted the cyclist was 'given a caution'. Wow. That's certainly going to dissuade him from any repeat. And wait till he tells his mates at the pub...

It really is crazy. This is the kind of behaviour that wrecks people's lives, yet the authorities seem to view it with a shrug of the shoulders, as tho' it 'just happens', like rain, and there's nothing you can do about it.

Oh, and as others have said, well done Matthew - you handled the incident very well, and came across very well on the interview: calm, sensible, non-whiney.

Hi SP

I tend to agree with you. Most normal people would be humiliated about appearing on tv under these circumstances but then most normal people wouldn't go ballistic over an extremely benign, muttered, observational comment. This guy is probably a hero down his local cesspit.

I think they said there are four Welsh police forces? Divisions, whatever. The reporter found out that since the police had been given new powers to prosecute road rage offences, not one of the forces had issued a single ticket.

Exactly. Such a pity that he came up against MT rather than an angry 15 stone cyclist having a bad day. But if that had been the case, Citroen man would no doubt have driven straight on by.... Would have been great to see MT knock him onto his arse!

Well done Matt I think you come across very well and I am not sure how you kept your cool with that complete knob in the silver Citroen...
It's a Merc turbo, in fact, ie driven by a knob with delusions. And spot on Matthew - "all he regrets is being caught".
[Edit: No, it's not a Merc. I need stronger glasses.]

Moderator message: Plenty of people have already said, at length and repetitively, what they think about this episode. The matter is now closed.
Boris, a mention of this on a previous post of yours was removed. I am leaving this here as a warning. Anyone else harping on about this will be banned from this thread (or any other thread on which they choose to mention it).

Just watched it, I'd loved to have heard Matthew just turn around and say "Yeah, I thought he was going to attack me... So I put the nut on him to take the heat out of the situation" lol

EDIT: Is it just me or does @Matthew_T look like a young version of @DCLane

I wonder if mr big mouth in car, would have turned around and followed a 60+ 6' 4" well built cyclist, and thrown his weight about.I think Matt did very well, but take some advice keep your mouth closed. These type of prats are all over the country, and they are just as much nobbers in every aspect of their little lives. You did well but move on and ignore them.Life is so much nicer when you do.Your opinions don't mean a thing to any of them.
A couple of weeks ago i was cycling out of Otley at a good pace when a nobber shouted out of his mini window some abuse, and he was going the OTHER way. What was that all about.

Ok in that case I am confused as to why it has a Citroen badge on it
