I do both. Name, address and next of kin contact details on a bit of card on my person and in my saddle bag. The same plus a whole lot more on the phone emergency call screen, including medication info, allergies, numerous emergency contact details, organ donor confirmation, etc.

That should do it. I don't feel the need to tattoo information on my body.

Maybe the importance to a degree depends on the next of kin, your current medication, allergies, etc.

In my case my "next of kin" lives over 60 miles away and if contacted would very likely agree to medical advice. I'm not on any medication and have no allergies. So whilst such info might save some admin time and reassure I doubt it would impact emergency treatment.

But for some eg on blood thinning medication maybe with some significant allergies and a local next of kin (eg parent or partner) then such info it probably a lot more important.

nb I still do have Medical ID fully setup and accurate on my phone.
