Cinema food is unbelievably poor value.
My local Wetherspoons - two burgers, chips and two drinks - £10.18
A quick Google brought up Cineworld - two hot dogs and two diet Cokes (standard size) - £9.40. In 2004...

I was charged £5 for 2 at a motorcycle event at Beaulieu about 15 years ago, nearly dropped them in shock.

What I found amazing was that they had cinemas in Yorkshire!

What you need to do is like everyone does for the pick n mix. Go and buy your ice cream at the supermarket, then hide it in your coat pocket as you enter the cinema. Once seated, eat at your leisure

I was in an Odeon and bought a coke and small popcorn. Said sorry to the cashier, I only have a £20. She said no problem, she could put the coke back.
