The one that came round here this afternoon was noticeable by playing a jingly version of the Match Of The Day theme music, so what does your local one play to get people's attention?

Boys and girls come out to play
On the busy motorway

At least that's what it sounds like. 😂

We have two different vans who regularly come to the Industrial Estate my work is based on. Both are ridiculously annoying / cr4p.

When I hear either - far from fancying a 99 or an Oyster - I more imagine I’m in my head: a Benny Hill / John Cleese type skit with me opening up the window, aiming a Bazooka at them - and ending the days sales there and then. Can you tell they nark me rotten ? 🤣

It's been a while since we had a van come out this way. But my cat at the time was terrified of the jingle. He was fine if the van just drove past, but if the music was playing, he used to dive under the credenza in the hallway and hide.

Can't remember what the tune was, though.

Ooh. a new word. Credenza.

This is interesting....
In Italian credenza means “belief” or “confidence,” and confidence is just what a member of a noble or royal household needed before eating in the Middle Ages and Renaissance. Being poisoned by one’s enemies was an ever-present danger. As a result, it was customary for members of royal or noble families to have a servant taste their food and drink after it left the kitchen and before it was served. The tasting was done at a dining room sideboard, and the name of the sideboard became credenza in Italian. https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/credenza

We dont get vans in our close now. All the young kids have grown up apart from one that strangely I never see and the other one is maybe 14 now.
As an aside I dont think I've ever had one of those Mr Whippy type ice creams.....I much prefer the traditional type.
