Did you want to keep the freewheel. If not take off the cogs from the body and use the vice on the body.

And how would this be done? There doesn't seem to be a 'cover plate' to remove that will allow the cogs to be lifted off.

I'm afraid not. It's ancient and unmarked.

Usually hiding under the smallest cog, chain whips to remove. Uber rare to be the other side next to the hub.

Maybe a 4-peg and grind two off?
Again the diameter is critical and I haven't been able to find specs but Tredz (or other) might offer phone help on that.

Last time i needed to remove one (2016), i no longer had the tool, so took the wheel to a friendly bike shop. 2 minutes, no charge.

I would congratulate the wonderful Pilgrim Cycles shop near Box Hill, but i believe they went out of business soon after. Too many freebies?
