I was thinking of trying that a while ago but the recipe book said you need some really good fillet steak. There's an extremely poncy butcher about a mile from me so I went onto their website to find the cost of their steak. £63.50 per kilo.

I settled for sardines on toast.
Yeah...but

You do need good fillet steak but not much of it. Mix it with some good olive oil, capers, shallots, season and it's amazing. Its very rich and can be a great starter rather than chowing down.

What a diamond!! That chinese mince sounds exactly what I need! Something totally different. Aww you're only good!

Read Eric Schlosser's Fast Food Nation which details what is put into mince and how by many food processors, and what a high proportion of it is infected with faecal matter (yup, poo!!), then throw the mince away and make them a nice cheese sandwich.

Seriously I read it a few years ago and haven't bought mince since!

Yer basic spag bol is quick and easy. And when I make it, it's very tasty. Hint: generous splash of Worcester sauce, teaspoonful of marmite. Plenty black pepper. Bob's yer uncle. :okay:

Run over a deer on the way home, have some venison. Search Patrick Stephens's recipes here on the forum. Will probably have to spatchcock it, or make some jus. :okay:

Top tip for bolognese sauce: add a small amount of chicken liver and streaky bacon to the mince. Not too much liver of it gets impossibly rich. Frozen chicken livers cost very little.

Shaped mince , oh yeah we had that lots .am sure she made it leg of lamb shaped a few times. To be fair I do something similar for the kids but spice it up with cumin and coriander.

Mince in puff pastry was a nice one . Cheap beef Wellington apparently
