Has there ever been a case of a driver exacting revenge on a cammer?

Driver hit me with wingmirror passing me to close, drove off with no care for my wellbeing. With a camera it allowed me to report and trace the driver and take further action. Fortunately i was not injured, but if i was then their insurance could payout for my injuries. This is why I cycle with cameras front and rear.

On a side note - I do find that the the amount of idiot road users (peds included as they seem to love walking out infront of traffic) that i have come across while on my commutes while i have the camera mounted have significantly dropped.

However i do experience the odd pull out and close pass as well as some folks deciding its OK to tailgate me but nothing too serious yet. For the most part apart from having their entire vehicle in the ASL, black cabbies seem to be behaving for the time being.

I have no desire to upload any of my footage unless either something serious happens to me or I witness a hit & run and require the help of the public domain to find the driver.

OR Im out on a long ride or cycling event with some beautiful scenery

So what further action did you succeed in taking? Did it make you feel better about the incident?

  • You want thousands of hours of vertiginous footage for... nup, I have no idea why
I'm forever seeing strange stuff on my rides - bottles of pop stood in the middle of the road, one Santa statue apparently suffocating another in a plastic bag, gatepost gargoyles with hats on, to name three I remember - and it's quite nice not to have to stop and get the phone camera out

It's also useful when talking to people from other places who don't understand how nice pootling around half-decent cycle tracks can be because all their councils build is dangerously-substandard shoot, but I realise that's not for everyone.
As another HGV driver, I use a dashcam in my truck. I don't go home after a 12 hour shift and watch videos of myself driving up the M6.
It's solely there to record any issues should I have need to prove my innocence.
After several recent issues on the road, I've thought more about getting one for the bike as well.
It's worth taking a look occasionally to make sure it's still recording and the memory card hasn't developed a fault.

Well said, Sir! Might I also add that some of the loudest shouters are some of the worst riders, but they seem strangely oblivious to this.
It's awfully nice of them to warn others of the presence of a bad rider, isn't it?

I sometimes mount a gopro on my bike. I use it for taking photos, pretty much like any other camera. When riding with others, a backward facing camera can get some nice pics.
