Just to prove I too am a Pedant when it comes to technology, the chances of you being off the internet are almost zero assuming you are using a computer. What you really are referring to is the 'World Wide Web' which are the web pages and multimedia content that is on the internet.

Almost everyone's computer will be on the internet, whether it is communicating with a server for updates or your antivirus is submitting reports back to the provider.

One of my 'puters isn't. It is deliberately not connected to anything but the 13 amp mains socket.

But then I don't use that one very often
