Cyprus. I think they've collapsed economically because of the disproportionate amount of money gone into the infrastructure of that island nation as the road surfaces are far too good for the incredibly small number of people living in the communities served by such roads. But still, for cycling, it is unsurpassed. November, December, January and February will give as many good and warm days cycling there as will May, June, July and August in Britain. And the incredible scent of the remoter parts is very intoxicating.
So you've got great weather, fantastic road surfaces, they drive on the left like us, there are the seemingly never-ending climbs in the Troodos mountains and almost everyone is happy to speak English. Cyprus for me every time. Oh, and they use our 3-pin plug system as well.
