If you put any up, when are you taking them down? 🎅

Up on Christmas Eve, down no later than Twelfnight, exactly as convention dictates.

Except this year I eschewed a tree because of the puppy, so never bothered with anything else either. Huummmbbbbuuuuugggggg!

In Poland, the tradition is up on Christmas Eve, but for me, a week before is a nice compromise. Down is very much a regional thing. In some regions it's Epiphany, in others, the decorations only come down on Candlemas.

Madam Ruby didn't bother overly much about the tree, only batting the occasional bauble. She's more enamoured of mum's yarn when she crochets!

Most down yesterday, some down this morning. Outside lights down tomorrow. I hate driving to work on 5th Jan seeing peoples stuff lit up FFS.

Down on the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord (the Sunday after the Epiphany).

PS. A single decoration (a Christmas nativity) is usually left out until the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord (also known as Candlemas).

Everything down and packed up in boxes yesterday, but didn't get put into the loft until today.

Total time they spent up was 32 days.

12 days of Christmas by my calculations takes us up to the 5th so they won't come down before then.

Before the current trend for putting trees up at the begining of December I used to be able to buy a fresh spruce on around the 18th and put it up straight away. They would drink a litre of water every two days and not drop any needles.

Last year we couldn't get a spruce as apparently everyone wants nordmanns which don't drop needles. It didn't drop any but didn't smell of anything - a plastic one would have been just as good and cheaper too.

This year we got a spruce which has been up since the 16th. Clearly not fresh as it's only drunk half a litre in two weeks and is dropping needles. However, it still smells of Christmas even now.
