Would it have pissed me off? hell yeah would I have probably made a friendly hand gesture whilst shouting something in relation to their constant habit of self gratification .

Would I report it to the Police hell no. Does anyone really think that a copper reviewing this bit of driving will give two figs? Bad driving yes but really cannot believe that there is an actionable offence that the plod will take action on or even visit them. The more a single person keeps reporting these the less likely something will get done when they have a genuine life threatening grievance.

That's touchingly naive. I've quoted it for posterity.

I love these threads. Sadly, it seems that a fair proportion of camera wearing cyclists are of the same name and shame at any chance persuasion. Usually includes a bit of ranting, but this vid is different in that they didn't stop and continue to berate the driver until they provoke an equally anger filled response.

This key mistake, in not adhering to these unwritten rules, is somewhat redeemed by making sure they crop the footage to only the incident which works in their favour, rather than the lead up. ;)

Very well said. I can see you are something of a cycle cam connoisseur. Unquestionably, if we had 20 secs of footage prior to the poorly-timed overtake, we would see the rider "cycling" - clearly doing his level best to antagonise the driver (his legs were probably turning the cranks - just asking for trouble!) and this errant behaviour "forced" the driver into the crappy overtake.

At the low end of the scale it's not treating riders as legitimate road users, they simply don't count. Taken to its extreme it's not even bothering to look for riders and smashing into and killing them from behind, which is how a quarter of cyclist fatalities happen.

Every time I get in my car and drive any sort of distance I will come across a twot like this, same shoot different mode of transport.

When you are in your car you are not remotely as vulnerable, so that's quite an astonishingly stupid thing to say.
Not really because I wouldn't have felt in danger from the footage in this video either, nor would it have put me in a bad mood and I would have forgotten about it within the next 5 minutes. The OP barely touched his brakes and didn't scrub much speed when he did. It was crap driving no different to what I see daily both in the car and on bike.

It's very common for me to get passed (dangerously) just before a red light, at which point I get to pass the car so that they can pass me again when it turns green, what fun.

The other great one is cars passing me when I'm already doing 20 in a 20-zone. Given that my speed is GPS-based, they're going a fair bit faster than me, and most cars read 5% high, the car speedometer must be reading 25-30.

So you believe this should have been reported to the Police? You don't think if you repeatedly send this type of thing at some point you will be seen as a time waster?

You do realise that some police forces actively encourage reporting this kind of poor/anti-social driving, don't you?
