If, like me, you have to get up for work tomorrow morning:
Do you trust the clock on your mobile phone (and thus alarm clock) to auto adjust to British Summer Time at 2am; or do you play safe and manually change the time before you go to bed tonight?

Alternatively, do you stroll into work an hour late and innocently claim that you "forgot" about the clocks going forward? Hmmmmmm....

ahh but what if you change it manually ,then it auto changes again at 2am ,you will be an hour early for work

Although its not for work, i too am up early tomorrow. No I dont trust the auto adjust (just in case ) although if it was for work then I'd probably say yes and if it fails the innocent claim comes into play ;)

For the last couple of years, it's been a bit confusing in out household as my alarm clock now automatically adjusts (as does the phone) , whilst the secondary alarm on my watch (essential if the hound wants walking before work on Mondays) requires manual faffing and adjusting. Fortunately the only thing I'm getting up for tomorrow is to get out on the bike. Unfortunately gone are the days where we waited for reports to see if Grandad Diggs has turned up too early or late for church.

When I'm on day shifts I have 3 alarms.
The home automation (ran by the computer) switches the bedroom light on at 03:43
The phone (iPhone 3gs) alarm goes off at 03:45
Finally the bedside alarm is set for 03:50 (it hasn't been needed yet)
So two of those would be trusted to auto-adjust, and the last changed before bed.
I actually on rest days at the moment, so none of them will be set!
Do they make you work an extra hour to make up for it?
Takes me back to my Merchant Navy days. When sailing east or west, changes of clocks were an almost daily occurrence. The time change was split equally between the 3 watches (shifts) so that each shift did 20 minutes extra (or less, depending on direction of travel). Start and finish times were a bit confusing until you got the hang of it.

When I was in the Police, if you were night shift when the clocks went forward then you got the bonus of having your shift shortened by an hour. If you were night shift when the clocks went BACK, then you got paid an hours overtime.

I'm not working, but will have a very annoyed choir if I turn up late. I'll be setting the clock an hour earlier and hoping it doesn't change overnight.

I'd rather be up too early than too late

I'd wake up an hour early just in case, then I can check that all is well and if it is, go back for another hour's rest.

If its an IPhone the alarms and time will probably be messed until Apple release an update! I had to catch a flight home from spain when clocks where fwd in 2011 and there was a number of people who were on our flight who should have been on the earlier one but their IPhone clock/alarm had messed up. It was Australian F1 GP so I had got up early anyway to watch as much of that as I could.
