You can always tell the ones who have Irish ancestry- they have an original framed New York policemen's truncheon, turned on a lathe from their Irish peasant farmer's shillelagh, proudly displayed in their study.

Is it true that we still rule America?

While a British accent allegedly pulls (and forgive me for posting the following),

that would seem to be the extent of your influence. I am unaware of British hands at the levers of true power for quite some time now.

Note the especially historically accurate George III

Then we could really be living in the past with no future, at present, to look forward to!

Something we should all be reflecting upon every chance we get.

I love/have loved/will love time travel movies. Even the bad ones. Maybe especially the bad ones - they are the most fun.

Always thought Reagan's ancestors were Irish.

Every single president was American, doggonit. It looks like we need to run this again, too:

But if we're in the past, which may also be the present, how do you reflect upon something that may be in the future?

The human brain had a firm talk with itself near the beginning of its evolution and came to the conclusion that no good would come from being able to access all of its timeline at the same instant, and so devised the coping mechanism of linear time: otherwise we would, simply put, go crazy. Even attempting to discuss all this in a seemingly rational way begins to cause the head to spin.

The closest we come to breaching this blessed linearity is on forums when nesting comments, which we do at our peril, particularly if one makes the mistake of attempting to quote oneself.

Is it true that the state of Texas was named after Texas Instruments?

Pick one:

– It was named after The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

– It was named after the band.
