Nice bike, and at a VERY nice price too! If only they had one in my size, I would be biting their hand off.

i was going to get a super galaxy for touring..... in the end i ended up with a scary fast bike! alright i have seen faster than mine but it is plenty fast enough for me
tell us how the galaxy is when you've had it for a while and done some long rides on it, a review maybe?

anyway congratulations and enjoy it more than anything!
Cheers Ed

Bikes are like cats in the following respect.

n=1 is really great. n=2 is ok if you absolutely must. After that they increasingly become a pain in the arse as as the value of n increases.

Just my personal opinion, you understand:-)

I totally get that, I'm already worrying about it!

On the other hand, there are worse things that could happen than getting a Dawes SG!

So giddy!

I thought I wouldn't be even getting a new bike for another year and now I'm getting a 2014 Dawes Super Galaxy.
It's not even near my budget but my husband found one at a
bargain price from Winstanley Bikes. He loves bargains!

I'm going to ride it home too, it's about 19 miles.

:hyper: That s a proper deal, and a fecking lovely bike.

If I hadn't just gone n+1 I'd get one and ride it back home too.

Think n+2 for the year would be pushing it with the fun prevention officer tho.

Enjoy :notworthy:

It's lovely!

We brought it home in the car, wheel off, wrapped in a sleeping bag!
My toe clip pedals haven't arrived yet. When we got home, we decided to put the cleated pedals on after all as they are reversible.
In the end, I've had a half hour on it, up and down the road. It feels really comfortable, although I'm not sure about the saddle yet which is narrower than I'm used to.
I am having trouble getting used to changing gear with the levers on the bars as I've only ever been used to the old fashioned levers on the frame.
Looking forward to more practice soon.
