You will be able to watch The Tour of Britain live as well as The Vuelta at 7pm in peace now then. That will be virtual cycling for you until you get back on the bike .
Enjoy.

Yes it is. It's not nice especially when the weather's fine and i'm thinking i could be out there working. Not just the money but keeping my round going I hope my customers don't act like some of those who've approached me in the past! "Can you do my windows for me?,i haven't seen my window cleaner for ages" they'd say. I'd point out that he might be ill or on holiday but this doesn't enter their minds. You're soon forgotten these days!

Our window cleaner stopped coming once so, after some months, when one leafleted he got the gig. Several years later the first one called round to see if we still needed his services.

I put letters through my customers doors the last time i was going to be laid up for a while, not going into too much detail, just telling them i'd be off for a few months due to a medical problem. Most accepted this and didn't look elsewhere. Sadly another window cleaner got wind of this and offered his services. That'd be ok till i was back on my feet but he meant permanently. There are far more customers out there than there are window cleaners, especially with it coming up to winter and the wimpy ones hibernate. There is no need to nick someone else's customers but sadly some folk are just too greedy and lack the spirit of fair play!

I don't know if i'll be going back to window cleaning again. I used to think it was "easy money", picking up say 75 quid for 5 or 6 hours work, but that 75 quid takes a lot longer to earn these days. Those safe, ground level, 10 quid an hour boring clock watching jobs seem to be more appealing. No pressure, holiday pay, sick pay, health and safety rights etc etc. The question is is it safe for a one eyed, restricted right shoulder movement and now dodgy hipped window cleaner to be climbing ladders and taking risks anymore?
