Commiserations. What a dick!

I was pulled off my bike once by a van driver on a two lane road in London. He stuck his hand out the window and grabbed my top causing me to fall off as I was moving. Fortunately the sensible driver behind me had slowed down and managed to stop. The first thing I saw when I got up off the road was two coppers in a car who'd seen the whole thing. This might sound like a good thing and indeed they were very supportive and told me to press charges. The CPS however decided not to bother. Thanks CPS you utter canutes.

Would this be the same Criminal Prosecution Service that didn't agree that striking 2 violently threatening home invaders with the first thing that came to hand (a wall mounted Samurai sword handily enough) just the once then calling the cops was self defence? Luckily the jury saw more sense and acquitted him.

To be honest, I'd rather not report it to the police. My previous experiences of dealing with the police on matters to do with bad driving have left me feeling as if I hadn't been taken seriously and I can't see it being different this time, especially seeing as this time round the incident took place while I was on a bicycle. Good old Met!

Afterall, my bike isn't damaged and I've come away with nothing more than a cut and bruised ankle.

The driver won't change his ways, that was quite apparent from our conversation. Anyway, it was quite clearly a vehicle that he needed for his job, so even if it did go to court he would get off scott free and I would have gone through a stressful legal proceeding only to see a Judge taking the piss out of every road user who abides by laws and is generally safe.

I'll be investing in a helmet camera soon and will definitely change my route as this stretch of road seems to bring more grief than the slightly longer route. I'm glad that I posted on here as I have at least flagged the vehicle as one to be wary around.

I empathise, some of us have been there ourselves before, and many will have it happen after.

I know you dont trust the possibilities of the Police, but please atleast consider filling in a crime stoppers online form (it encrypted so you dont have to give details if you dont wish to) and a Stop Smidsy form as the CTC are logging bad behaviour towards and around cyclists.

Both are technically unconnected to the Police and both campaign for safety on our streets in national campaigns. Guys I know on other forums have shopped drug dealers at crime stoppers (and the guy's house has been "knocked" as a result of that information like times and dates, vehicle reg etc). Worth wasting 2 minutes if you ask me.
