but yesterday I managed it.

Not since LEJoG have I done 100m, and that was as a nipper 30 years ago. I stepped up from a comfortable 40 mile range up to 100. Even considering going out on the bike today but fear that my sunburnt thighs might not respond well.

It was mainly on small roads (the whole of the Avon Cycleway) plus a bit, and included 4500 feet of climbs. At one point I came across "Road Closed" signs, but chose to ignore them. Around the corner was a tarmac laying machine covering the full width of the road plus a bit. I chatted up the guys on the machine and they kindly let me and the bike climb aboard and then helped me pass the bike through the middle of it.

Anyway, all good practice for my trip to France next month.

Why? Are you expecting to encounter many Tarmac laying machines in France??

Great effort on the century. Stepping up from 40 to 100 is no small step :wahhey:
