In and out of love

Have ridden the aero bike most of the year, but got the climbing bike out earlier on in the week, Made a few adjustments to it Friday and rode it today, Felt soooooo good, i will be riding it this winter, Love the aero bike in the summer. but the deep section wheels don't help when it's windy, Just love the climbing bike. Anyone else have the same thoughts?

It's a lot lighter.

Pretty much the same for me, in the summer I ride a bike without mudguards and in the winter I ride a bike with mudguards.

Am going to Calpe in February, Training camp, so getting it setup.

Well jel! But let's be honest, any decent road bike would do.....

Absolutely, but my choice is based on the following;

• Unbelievably f*king rough, take the MTB.
• It might be wet or i need to carry lots of stuff, then the commuter as it is equipped with guards & panniers.
• Travelling light and dry weather, then take the best bike. This is actually Allroad/Enduroad but is great for any ride from bridleway to 100 mile+ sportives etc.

I don't beleive in the micro clasification of bikes such as touring, hillclimbing, sportive etc except for ensuring the bike has suitable gearing for the job in hand.

Starting to sound a bit like @SkipdiverJohn now!

Both bikes geared the same, the R5 is more nimble on the descents as well as being lighter for climbing. I believe there is the right bike for the right job. When i tour i use the MTB with slicks on, Horses for courses.

If you are descending on the N332 from Denia way I would take the one with the best brakes!!
