Yes. Bentleys on daisy hill. And he used to make up proper potions and stuff for sore throats or muscle aches. Then regulation of medicines came in and he retired. He also used to develop films on site too IIRC . Bloody clever bloke.

In the opinion of several pharmacists I work with the decline in making of potions happened over a long time (early 80s to early 00s), but this case http://www.pharmaceutical-journal.c...pensing-a-defective-medicine/20000781.article had a very big bearing on it and pretty much killed it off in community pharmacy. They said that the previous generations of pharmacists in their family enjoyed that aspect of the job much more. The case changed community pharmacy a lot and what with two gargantuan suppliers stuff is very standardised now.

I used to fill up an old Mercedes I had at the same village petrol station everytime for one reason (fuel was cheaper elsewhere) - it had attended service. Amused me greatly to see the attendant wandering around the back of the car looking for the filler cap before asking. It was concealed under a flap next to the number plate.

Though similarly I was glad the handbook was in the VW van I hired recently - you have to open passenger door to get to the cap.
