And you think he's alone in football? Football is one of the sports that has almost completely got away with it when it comes to drugs. It was completely endemic at the top level in Italy in the 80s and 90s. We only know that because of a few cases that brought things to light - the same could well be true of Britain. There is certainly a lot of suspicion around the 'training techniques' Dutch clubs used with the young players they brought in from Latin America.
if you look at the Juventus players from about 1990 on some of them show remarkable patterns of growth - deepening jaws, and widening shoulders. Of course it could all be down to being late developers....
