Next time you have a beret to hand, say to the assemble folk: "Do you want to see my impression of a famous rock 'n' roll singer?"
"Ooh, yes, go on!", they will say in anticipation.
You then casually toss said item of headgear across the room, and, after waiting a while for a suitable look of bemusement to cross their faces, you say:
"Chuck Beret!.
At this point, they will probably start hitting you, or simply offering you your coat.

I have one, along with a Glengarry; both can be worn wth the ribbons loose at the back of the head, which I think looks extremely dashing especially in a breeze.

Came up behind an ol' feller waiting on the corner for the bus...his beret looked so cool I almost stopped and complimented him on it, before deciding that he'd probably find it more disturbing than welcome.
