It's been a while since I've done it but Welling Cycles has once again provided a bit of service that needs a mention. The commuter bike had a loose spoke on the rear wheel that wouldn't tighten so at 9.30 on Sat I took it down to Welling Cycles. Had a chat with Peter who runs the job, explained I needed it back by close on Monday and oh while it was in if he could find a way to get the broken bolt out of the mudguard eyelet on the front fork I'd appreciate it.
Telephone call at 3.30 on Sat to say it was ready. He'd fitted a new spoke and trued the rear wheel (disc braked so a bit more complicated than normal) and not only had he got the broken bolt out but he's also fitted the front mudguard properly for me. That's service.
I always feel a little guilty about doing my own servicing because I really want to keep them in business but I'm not alone with financial pressures.
