Currrently using Shimano RO87 road shoes with SPD cleats and cleat stabilisers. Looking for some MTB shoes with recessed cleats but want them to be more road looking, not chunky like the usual MTB shoes. Found a few Northwave shoes that seem to fit the bill, but any ideas of brands out there that would suffice?

TIA

They don't fit me...obviously we all have different feet so you need to try on in store or order online with free delivery and returns

Thanks for the suggestions folks. I'll look into those mentioned.

Upping this thread as I'm in the same situation.

I'm considering the switch from flat pedals and sneakers to spd pedals and mtb shoes (shoes, not boots).

From what I've seen online so far, I'm pretty much settled on buying a pair of Northwave (99% not interested in other brands...)

Anyone has any experience with any of the following shoes?
Or can you recommend other models from Northwave?

My summer shoes are Shimano RT500 which are fairly non chunky, road looking. (2 bolt SPD - recessed so walkable but not ideal for walking any distance)

I’m a big fan of Sidi. Just about everything is user replaceable. I have a pair of 14 year-old road shoes (fitted with MTB spds and cleat stabilisers) and a 7 year old mtb pair that are almost indistinguishable. Both look as good as new (I wear overshoes when it’s very wet). Got them both in sales to ease the cost
