What is a track pump? My tyres max out at 55psi.. But I like them at 45 psi.

1. Track pump - it'll save you frustration, time and money in inner tubes by preventing pinch flats. These are far more common than punctures caused by sharp things.
2. If locking your bike then regardless of its value lock it up with gold rated locks through both wheels and the frame.
3. Vary your commute or trio into town so you don't get bored.

Are you riding a mountain bike? Because a road bike needs far more than 55 psi, let alone 45 psi.
I'll add some advice - if you're just riding on the road, don't get a mountain bike. Seriously.

1. Learn to ride a bike.
2. Don't buy a bike based upon a spec sheet and brochure - go ride a few.
3. Buy a bike.

Utter boleros! I only stopped using my hardtail MTB for the 10 mile commute because I didn't want to burden it with rack and guards!
It would have been an easier ride on a road bike, even a flat bar one.
Just saying...
Plus - most MTBs with disk brakes come with at least some suspension these days, and you deffo don't need that for roads.

1.) Join Strava and record all your rides and progress

2.) Try and do high intensity (fast speeds) and high cadence on sections of your rides ... this will make you fitter

3.) Get a decent satnav and explore new areas close to you, by using Ride With GPS and Strava Heat Maps
