I think many of average build can have difficulty due to the fact that modern cars are wider than of old and many car park admins have not got around to relining their car parks accordingly:sad:.

Edit to say I'm not defending obesity!

This is true. I have a medium size car, which parked exactly in the middle of a standard space leaves, literally, about 6" to the white line on either side.

The answer is generally to park about 50m further away. Goodness knows why most people insist on parking as close as possible to the shop entrance (or whatever), when they're going to walk at least a few hundred metres around the shop / wherever they're going.

If there was any justice in this country pedestrians would be allowed to walk over cars parked on pavements:angry:.

I've done that down my road,

People who park on the pavement also run the risk of me need to push my bike past them, those shimano Spd's are quite sharp.

The way I see it, my elderly neighbors and the ones with push chairs shouldn't have to walk on the road.

Here's an example of the corner Parker

No need to leave them alone, just report them to the authorities, criminal damage can easily backfire on the person carrying it out.

I do not agree with parking illegaly.

me neither, there are some persistent parkers who do this whether you try to ask them first up or not. my usual approach would be to have a word explaining that we all have the same neighbours, old and young with pushchairs etc.

I usually ask them if they think its acceptable that the 85 year old neighbour with a walking frame needs to walk in the road just so they can park where they like.

And oddly enough if you park in the middle of a deserted car park, you will come back to find some twat has parked so close to you you can't get the door open even though there are fifty empty spaces:wacko:
It's the same with Camping, put a tent up in an empty field and you can bet some Oik will put their tent up right next to you and leave the rest of the field empty. :cursing:

Behind some some trees next to the main road into Burton, there's a big pond used by anglers. One day, an angler was parking partly on the verge and partly on the pavement. Further on, there was an old boy piloting his BSO along the pavement. I tried to telepathically will him to do a Danny McCaskill over the car, but without success...
