You can make an inner tube setup impervious to punctures from flints glass shards. Just inject 80mil of sealant in through the valve. I set my wifes bike up this way, no punctures in 6 years, including several hundred miles off road riding too

presta valves ?

I use this system
plus schwalbe tyres - Marathons on the back

so not that much can get through it!!

but I have had a few punctures over the years
although one was a 2 inch screw than managed to get through the side wall and right through and ou t of the other side

No idea how that even got there - but the hole was never going to be sealed by a few ml of Slime!!! (Other brands are available!)

as Drago ( and others!) would say

always be wary of a screw from an unexpected direction!

Lefty tighty. Get it righty.
Random question. Are e-bikes typically set up tubeless?

With their fatter tyres and potentially greater wheel removal faff it could have benefits. But as weight is not so much if a penalty they can have super tuff tyres.

My Ribble hybrid came with normal tyres and inner tubes, but the Mavic wheels fitted are tubeless ready.

It all depends on what wheels come with bikes. For me I've converted many so called inner tube wheels to tubeless. Using the suitable rim tape, valve.

Re this category of ebike ready tyres. This is a bit misleading, by suggesting they are heavier bikes and need a specific tyre. The bikes weight is pretty much irrelevant when you add a full sized adult on top. I just use wider tyres, for comfort 50mm G-Ones in tubeless. I may run a few more psi because of the panniers stuff I generally carry.- no difference to upping tyre pressures on a vehicle when fully loaded.

My rear tyre is beginning to show signs of wear after 3500 miles, likely change it sometime this winter.

This reminds me I need to get rear wheel spokes re tensioned

Saw one, bike and delivery rider, removed from the town centre today. The other was just about able to pedal to actually move the bike.
Given the noise it was making, he can't have been going far, or uphill.

Good.

Police know where they are (outside McDonald's), they know they'll catch people riding illegal eBikes if they bothered, just get on with it and arrest them.

It does leak a little, but if you use decent stuff it will seal and get you home without stopping. I moved over to 30mm+ tyres years ago. My main road bike has 50mm tyres

this was on 23 mm tyres when they were the standard size so rocking 90-100 psi at the time , my current go to size is now 28 mm, i dont think i could fit bigger than 30 mm on the commuter with the mudgaurds .

Last time I were in Leeds, the delivery riders had "relocated" to the Bond Street/Commercial Street area. Not as many as there used to be down near McDonalds.

How many times can you afford to have a £800+ bike removed and replaced the same week before you can't afford to replace them?
Especially if your only a food delivery rider.
