Tommy Ball...........blimey that takes me back a few years. They had the shoes tied together through holes in the heels so you had to walk like a penguin. The bloke at the til cut it for you when the cash was handed over. Cheap though LOL

Must have a look on the internet for the sports shoe shop called "Athletes Foot"

Nice stores. Chicago suburbs have a lot of them.

They had that huge warehouse in Blackburn which my folks insisted on 'popping' in to on the way to or from Accrington... a doubly fun day out!

In the Hungarian town of Terpes I used to drive past an ice cream parlour called "Salmonella".

I went to a Netto in Liverpool once and they had these vertical poles welded to the trolleys and a kind of goal post arrangement, which the trolley couldn't be wheeled under, after the check out to stop people nicking them, classy.

Mrs Gti was in a store in Liverpool and when she looked askance at the owner, who was locking all the stock away and passing a chain through the handles of the prams, the owner commented: "Well, we 'ave to be careful; we get a lorra holdups up and down this road."

"Oh I know," replied Mrs Gti, "I got held up for ages by all the traffic lights!"

"NO! Not THAT kind of holdup!" retorted the shop owner.

It's the only photo I've ever made money from, by submitting it to 3 'top shelf' magazines

Tommy Ball's shoe shops in Blackburn. That brings back memories!
I was taken there by my ex on a visit to her family in Blackburn, its no wonder locals walk around like Frankensteins Monster, I'd sooner walk around in clogs than the tat they sold. In fact the wooden soled foundry boots I wore at work looked like fashion accessories in comparison. Sometimes "Ah but they're cheap" just ain't enough.
