I was taken there by my ex on a visit to her family in Blackburn, its no wonder locals walk around like Frankensteins Monster, I'd sooner walk around in clogs than the tat they sold. In fact the wooden soled foundry boots I wore at work looked like fashion accessories in comparison. Sometimes "Ah but they're cheap" just ain't enough.

Did they have the holes in the heels? To those who aren't familiar Tommy Ball shoes were hung up by string,so they punctured the heels to get the string through.http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/2300276.famous_blackburn_shoe_store_tommy_balls_closes/

No but you could stand in pools of spilt molten brass (when a casting box leaked) and not care a jot as flames licked up your leather gaitors.
Its not a good idea to 'leg it' when 2 of you are holding a crucible of 150lbs of molten brass in a pouring bar.

It's not just Liverpool, I've seen trolleys that look like dodgems in loads of places.

Well, at least that one looks like and can be pronounced like a well known rude word. As for "wanabka"..........well, it's nothing like it, unless you remove a syllable.

Mind you, I get equally grumpy about personalised number plates, where the intended spelling usually appears to be some kind of bizarre wishful thinking on the owner's part.

If that's not photoshopped then winner hands down:biggrin::giggle::giggle::rofl:

Hello Thom - enjoy the festival? Expensive beer! Rob has just moved to Bell Yard Mews and it strikes me as an interesting patch of London. Meanwhile, wonderful, wonderful Copenhagen.
Stumbled upon it en route to Maltby St actually - pretty nice but definitely expensive. A part of London mixing old and new that seems to go under the radar quite well, except when they arrange street parties...
