In particular, Wednesday..................

Wind???? Bloody hell!!

On the way to work, a tree collapsed about 20 yards infront of me:eek:, a few more seconds.............

None of the lifts were working at work because the wind was howling up the lift shafts and stopping the doors from closing.

The 18 mile ride home took me nearly 3 hours (I use the 27 cycle route through disused railway). I had to get off the bike and climb over a tree - 23 times!! Then, about half a mile away from home is a tunnel which I couldn`t get out of because a falling tree had totally blocked it, I did manage to climb over eventually with the bike, and land in a heap on the other side, only to be faced with a flat tyre................

I was then afraid to go home, as my house is partly surrounded by huge trees and I was genuinely worried that one or more of them had collapsed through my house.............

Melbourne had interesting weather this week, which made my rides home from work variable:
  • on Tuesday, my ride home from work had temperatures between 37 and 40, with hot, slightly strong winds.
  • on Wednesday, it was 27 and not so windy.
  • on Thursday, it was 16 and rained all the way home.
  • on Friday, it was 30 and fine again.
I never know what to expect.

Tree collapse? Pah. I was once cycling to work and a Boeing 747 landed on me.
Aren`t you lucky......
