Cool! Thanks for the heads up. That was great. But what were the other two lights that crossed its path at about a 90 degree angle but going much faster? There was no plane noise - couple of turbo seagulls maybe?
There are actually many satellites to spot, in the couple of hours after sunset if you aclimate your eyes there is often one to see every couple of minutes traveling North/South. The brightest are the Irridium fleet which flare to be the brightest objects seen as the sun catches their arrays. Try a free app like ISS Detector to get the timings and live bearings on their position.

We often go out and watch it in the evening. The miserable sods inside never wave back though.

The sky is beautiful in the country. I live in the middle of nowhere. There are no street lights and the view of the stars is unbelievable.

Oh no. It was cloudy here last night so didn't see it.
