My family and I saw it tonight thanks to a heads up from someone on here. Great moment :-)

Yep, just been out on the balcony and spotted it - my younger daughter is well chuffed :becool: She has also said she's staying up until it goes past again later tonight (I think)

I remember driving out into the sticks to look at Hale-Bopp when that was around.
****.
Me.
Ragged.
:becool:

Hale-Bopp was a thing of true beauty  ... much better than that over-rated Halley's Comet

edit... back on topic-ish.... I've always loved this partial eclipse photo

Really good clear pass tonight.

Daughter has got three friends staying over and they're camping in the garden and were pretty interested, which sounds a bit underwhelming but then they are teenagers!

I tried taking a picture, but failed. I thought I had the exposure, focus, speed all nailed but the nice bright line I was hoping for came out pretty faint. I've attached it anyway. The ISS is the faint trail just to the right of the right hand power line towards the top of the picture. F9, 30 sec exposure, ISO100 - any ideas why this was a fail gratefully received.

I tried the same last week and got more or less the same result... i reckon the ISS has got to be very very bright on a moonless night, or a bit of post production is required to get the white streak i/you/we had hoped for.

According to the ISS link, it actually was flying south west of Ireland and then across northern France when it was visible to me, so nowhere near me here in Scotland. Too bad you obviously had cloud!
