I'm sorry, I forgot about that aspect. What about Nature videos then, where there is no plot. Blue Planet etc? Walking with lions? Or Fred Astaire and Ginger Rodgers, plenty of music and dancing?

good idea !.. I have got the whole series of Planet earth and Life with Mammals:biggrin: plus the entire series of Faulty Towers hey things are looking up .

We can construct our own tv programs every night

Use the broadband for bbc iplayer and let him watch TV on the PC screen. There's plenty on there - he can watch a whole series at once.

If the download limit is an issue could you find some cheap box set DVDs of TV series?

Pardon my lack of understanding, but isn't Sky+ like the Freeview recording box (PVR) that we've got which means you can record stuff onto the box? We've always got loads of stuff on there and so would watch that, not sure it'd be two weeks worth though .. haven't you got stufff on there you can watch?

sounds like you might be better off with virgin media; no such signal problems and no download limit. the v+ service is pretty much the same as sky+ although the sky sports red button and bbc news multiscreen don't work.

unfortunately not Helen. The problem with Dementia is that suferers cannot remember long enough to get any continuity. Programs have to be of the type where the content is short or comes in short complete packages of information.

We find that programs high in visual content low in story or plot are best ie nature programs

its a great pity because I have complete series of Frost and The Governor & Prime Suspect and Blue Murder and Cracker and Blood in the tracks etc all of which are useless

how so ? we are in the middle of no-where and there is no Virgin cables near us and BB signal is 2Meg max we are already paying for Sky+ and as soon as the scaffolding is taken down we will have perfect tv again.

Maybe we should move:biggrin:

if you can't get a sattelite signal the sky+ box doesn't work at all so you do not have access to recordings stored on your Sky+ box.

besides anything recorded would not be suitable for the reasons given
