Great idea @kipster . I will try - put me down as a "maybe" at this stage! I already have another cycling event booked in september which involves two nights away so some negotiation may be required!

I've done the IOW Randonnee event round the Island several times and it's a lovely ride (although the road surfaces were often pretty awful in many places when I last did it). The signs for the round the Island route are in place permanently so you can't really go wrong........

They have resurfaced lots of the knackered out bits of road.
The chain ferry between East and West Cowes, was out of action, then replaced, but the replacement was then taken out of service, because it needs modification.

Here's the entire route of the Randonnee, including the diversion at Newport, to by pass the chain ferry. And the ferry back to the mainland ( somehow )
