Ok i just bought a moto with my 10 year service voucher , excellent for th emoney and my needs , also seems that it can be set very loud so looks like swmbo wants one as well.

I was going to say: my death father found phones very usable in speaker phone mode. Moto G has that, as do most others, I assume.

Of course, it's horrible in a public place, but then so are most phone calls. Maybe it's better if the annoyed people can hear both sides of the conversation?

@cyberknight How about approaching it slightly differently and turning down the ring volume so it just vibrates? Downside is she would have to have it on her all the time.

OT...

The Doro phones are superb.

The large buttons, the spoken numbers when you press, and the ease of use due to large writing on the screen make them ideal.

Both my Mother, and Mother-in-law use the Doro 6 series clamshell phones

An additional bonus is the "Emergency" button on the back that phones, and then leaves texts on preprogrammed numbers.

The funny side is that my wife was a technophobe, and had an Android phone she could not get on with at all, so replaced it with a cheap Doro

Then when I got the iPhone5, she was able to use it far more intuitively and within a week she had one of her own.

She also uses an iPad, and now wants the larger iPhone 6 plus.

APPLE has admitted its new iPhone will bend if you are determined to bend it.

The company has been inundated with complaints from iPhone customers, but stressed it was impossible to make something that does not, ultimately, bend.

A spokesman said: “If you don’t want it to bend then don’t f*cking sit on it. How’s about that?

“And, actually, if it didn’t bend then the screen might crack and you’d end up with tiny shards of glass up your back passage. That’s no picnic.”
