:hello: I'm back... sort of. I have a question for glorious mod @Pat "5mph" or anyone else who can be bothered to answer - is there still a photography thread? Or a photography forum that people would recommend?? I came on here looking for/seeking advice relating to photography but don't want to be too generic... anyway let me know thoughts. Oh and hi to the family! ^_^
Yes, there is still a photography thread to showcase your work here: https://www.cyclechat.net/threads/the-photography-thread.112493/
A seperate thread for questions and chat about photography would be a good addition and I'm sure would fit in fine in either the Photo Gallery or the Hobbies section as Pat has already mentioned.

Really? Ffs
Yes really, I picked it up on Twitter.
Interestingly the labels on the packets of four hot cross buns (bottom right) had the correct spelling of 'saltire', unlike the saltaire on the yellow label. I've never heard the cross on a hot cross bun being referred to as a saltire before^_^.
Perhaps some joker has been photoshopping, I don't know.

Any tweaks anyone would make to this route? I'm mainly looking to cover the ground but any better routes from Renfrew to Greenock and Kilbirnie to Gleniffer Braes would be interesting to hear:

First half: is there a reason you're avoiding NCN75 to Greenock? I tend to follow NCN75 until the turnoff at Auchentiber Road a couple of miles after Kilmacolm. That avoids the worst of the traffic and the maddening routing above Port Glasgow.

As for the rest of your route, it looks good until Kilbirnie.
Beith is a maze, and Gleniffer Road is generally dominated by unpleasantly fast traffic, I'd avoid it as much as possible.

I'd join NCN7 at Kilbirnie towards Lochwinnoch, and either continue along same to Paisley, or if you want the climbing, this incorporates a lot of the route I use to Largs over the Gleniffer Braes while avoiding the worst of Gleniffer Road.

I didn't know the Greenock path existed. I've tended to avoid them because they can be slower and can take a bit of navigation, but will have a look at the route.

I've gone up Gleniffer from Paisley and back down again, it seemed quiet but that was a Saturday morning before 10am. Looking at the rest of the route I might have had my fill of climbing by then anyway! Thanks.
