This beer is nice, even though it isn't anything particularly special. It was the best they had at the bar and is Bateman's Autumn Gold or something like that.

Actually, that isn't all: They have given me it in one of those old types of glass with the handle and all the indented flat bits on the sides like windows (I was going to say like some sort of glorified glass golf ball, but realised that didn't quite make sense).

They've reappeared recently after being away for 20 years - all over the place. Here's my theory: they went out in favour of straight glasses because straights were easier for bar stuff to collect (stack a pile of 20). Someone's just realised that with the average bar person serving short measure by a mm or three, the bigger the surface area, the bigger the saving to the brewery. Probably only makes 0.5% of difference overall, but every little helps, right?
