Is being tall a good thing?

I can't see a huge problem. My joke about mismatched couples was always "no one to talk to in bed"

About 17 years ago I did make one particular friend who is actually much shorter that me - as in perhaps my shoulder height - and who is married to probably the tallest chap I know. 20+ years of marriage so maybe they talk elsewhere

I'm a complete shortarse. I reckon that anyone out towards the edges of the bell curve in either direction will tend to occasionally find themselves at an advantage and sometimes at a disadvantage - the world is designed to fit the majority-somewhere-in-the-middle. So at uni I was the only member of the lighting team that could walk around the gantry in the theatre

and hang lanterns without banging my head, but also had to make a choice, when operating the Gemini

whether I wanted to reach all the controls (wheely chair adjusted right up) or rest my feet on the floor (wheely chair adjusted right down). Swings and roundabout, roundabouts and swings.

It never bothered me in the slightest being the most diminuative in the gang, which I have been in most places. I did REALLY notice it when I lived surrounded by Dutch people for a while in my youth, but can confirm that shagging a partner with whom one has a significant height difference is entirely non-problematic.

Is 6'-6'2" even tall nowadays?

Probably not.

As someone else has mentioned, when I was 18 I was almost guaranteed to be the tallest person in the pub. Now, if I’m in a pub with lots of youngsters I don’t stand out.

My step-son, aged 19, is 6’4”. He is taller than most of his peers, but he stands out less than I did when I was 19.

Fret not, I am sure that Cross']://crossdressingcloset.com/collections/footwear]Cross dressing closet would be able to sort you out better than whatever you are doing now.

You have the same problem as well then, it is terrible not being able to get pretty shoes in size 11. I find that the larger sizes are a bit too tarty though and the heels too high, which is a problem when you are already a bit tall. You can get everything else perfect but being being 6'8" (in heels) puts all the rest to waste.

I was diagnosed with shortness last January:rolleyes: when i went for a bone density scan. "Sorry to tell you Mr Accy but i'm afraid you're no longer a 6 footer. You're now only 5ft 11inch"!! . I must say though that it hasn't really bothered me as i still seem to stand above most people around here. For example, i went out with a walking group yesterday. I found that i was the tallest by a good few inches. Also being very slim ( I'm10 stone exactly) makes you look taller,so i've been told.:shy:

You're an imposter!!!

Thread prompted by a conversation with my cousin’s daughter, who is exceptionally tall for her age (10), shows every sign of being a 6 footer when she’s fully grown and seems to be a bit uncomfortable about it.

Mrs Colly is 5'8'' . She was this height at junior school and stopped growing at age 11. When she was 4 she was taller than one of the dinner ladies. Albeit a very small dinner lady I would guess.

Tell your cousin's daughter she will be fine.

I don't think it really matters any more how tall you are.

A few years ago there was a TV ( )documentary about a struggling shoe factory in Northampton. They struck on the idea of making female footwear for very large German transvestites. I believe that they were successful. It was a very sympathetic programme.

I know that women tend to have their growth spurts younger than men, but I'll contend that Mrs Colly's experience is not typical. My classmate who towered over Miss Gunther when we were 9 was still the tallest when we finished. school. I stayed similarly average over the time, though gratifyingly moving from shortest 3rd to tallest 3rd when we lined up for photos.
I think this is it. I wouldn't fancy being short short and subject to the bullying that it brings. I don't know who decided that tallness was an achievement and shortness a disability.
And if you're bulky with it, be sure to mention at least once a day what a big guy you are.
