I get that but not to sound like a hard ass unlike the tango which takes two it only takes one to crash. I can even fully tell what exactly happened in this trucker incident. All that aside my original question was answered.

Your answers are incoherent, poorly spelled, deliberately obtuse and do little to promote your reasoning skills.

You should have left things when I supplied you with the link to prosecution cases which broadly supported your beliefs. Additional comments after that were a waste of electrons and time.

So summarising:

• You think that warning motorists about speed traps is wrong and offenders should be prosecuted.
• I supplied a link to case which showed that folk who warned motorists were prosecuted either for obstructing the police or their misuse of headlights.
• You missed an opportunity to use the links to correct the poster who claimed that warning other motorists was perverting the course of justice.

There are so few Police on patrol nowadays that there's never been a better time to break the law, your chances of being caught have never been slimmer. If you DO get caught it's your own stupid fault because your poor observation has failed to alert you to the day-glo Police officer up ahead or you've failed to realise that other drivers are behaving circumspectly or it's an obvious place for a speed camera van, as advertised by fixed warning signs... or worse, your observation is so bad that you haven't spotted the huge flouro-yellow camera box beside the road up ahead.

I'll occasionally flash drivers who overtake or approach me at excessive speeds - but not if there is a camera anywhere near!

No problem with using bright yellow boxes to reduce accidents at blackspots, but IMO there should also be plenty of speed cameras which are dark green, well hidden and only there to catch people. Why do some people think they have a Fundamental Right to go too fast?

I agree with most of that Dan. I just cant understand why the speed 'traps' are almost always hidden, ie at the bottom of a hill around the bend slightly out of view or obscured by trees. It breeds suspicion and contempt of the police. If they were there for safety then advertise the bloody things and put them in a place for everyone to see.

Given that you cannot see a mahoosive camera or van because it is "at the bottom of a hill around the bend slightly out of view or obscured by trees." The only muppet who gets caught has still tanked it round the corner above the speed limit whee the sensible thing would have been to slow down due to the poor visibility of the road ahead!

The other point is that Police vehicles and speed cameras kill thousands of people a year by being visible.

The Association of Bad British Drivers is a classic.

In Manchester they had a clampdown on poor driving, and the bleating about persecution, revenue raising etc started immediately. Then came the classic quote that Police cars were dangerous because by having them out on the roads, drivers were "forced" to look out for them rather than paying attention to the road and their driving!

I once got told to drive more carefully & a little slower because there was a police car behind. I ignored the passenger & drove how I drive, Road Craft style. When we eventually got into town we ended up side by side at some traffic lights, the officer in the passenger seat said something like "IAM, RoSPA or are you a traffic officer?".
