Good meal of stovies at tea-time to give the stomach a lining together with a bottle of wine or two. A few pre-drink drinkies before hitting the pub about 9. Drinky drinky drinky, see in the bells, wee bit of blow as a perk-me-up before hitting the streets and snogging every willing WPC in sight. Then off to a party with the wife, who's got a good few lines of Charlie sorted out together with the bevvy for first footing. Steak pie is in the oven with the timer set to have it ready for tomorrow at 3 for the family coming round. Good lining for the stomach ready for the clubbing tomorrow night followed by the New Year's party at the neighbours. Finish up with some more blow to freshen me up for work on Tuesday.
A couple of posters have mentioned Jools.
Is it me, or has the quality of his programme declined in recent years?
It was never broadcasting in the tradition of Lord Reith, but the last couple I've watched have been more irritating then entertaining.
I really don't like new year. I totally hate fireworks so will, like in previous years head off in a car into the middle of nowhere with a book and flask of cocoa and spend the time in quiet contemplation.
Having said that it will be with no sense of regret that I watch this year consigned to history.
Nothing at all, sounds idyllic. I'm most envious.Out into Glossop to its best pub for a few beers in the company of some old friends. All back to ours for nibbly food, drinks, Hootananny, board games, dancing in the kitchen until the early hours.
Probably do a NYD ride to blow out the cobwebs
What's not to like?
