Is it ok to have a cycling buddy who is entirely imaginary?

Would this be cycling on imaginary roads or with roads of the opposite sex?
My wife had a fit of jealous rage once when I cycled on a road of the opposite sex.
Could have been worse though, I once came off on a sleeping policeman......

I cannot imagine a more frustrating scenario for a road-tax-paying motorist than being held up by an imaginary cyclist who neither pays road tax nor shows any consideration for his or her more tangible and visible (and road-tax-paying) fellow road users.
