GT85 is not an effective chain lubricant. Good as a cleaner of oily things though. Used every ride: maybe good enough but sub-optimal.

I'm not convinced on GT85. As an 'oil' it's not a good lubricant as it is mostly a very light oil that evaporates, thus not being oily any more. It does contain PTFE which is a very good solid lubricant, if applied and used in the right amount in the right way. I don't know how the PTFE is left on the chain, whether it is a well-adsorbed layer or even how much there is to start with.
I use a machine oil on any chains likely to get wet (currently Castrol 3-in-1) and a dry lube (currently Muc-Off Dry Oil) on my 'best' MTB, which has so far only left the house if there is no risk of encountering anything wet (it's new, don't judge).
