You hve to reach a certain age before you can have a mid life crisis. Supect, most of you have never grown up enough to reach that age. Lol

Oh, I was planning that for my 40th (few years away yet), and a massive road trip around Europe. I think of it as a reward for reaching 40 rather than a crisis though?

It's a response to boredom.
Bored with being with the same person for 30 odd years, bored with doing the same stuff, having the same conversations, bored with work, kids have left home... - it doesn't affect everybody, of course, but a significant number who feel the need to spice up their lives.
